Banner Year

Rain the day night before and most of Halloween day gave us some worry and we lost our mache' Pumpkin Rot style scarecrow due to the weather. By nightfall though it cleared up and  it was a banner year as far as the number of treaters that visited Shingle Creek Manor. We estimated at between 100 and 120 children and an unknown number of adults. At one point we even had a tour bus from the local city arrive and park in front of the house, as what seemed like hoards of masked children and their parents descended upon us. It was a great Halloween and we hope your was too!

Tour bus and the number of children was a big surprise due to the fact the community's gates were  even closed.
This years purchase of the Jumping Spider was a big hit causing plenty of frights and running children and parents!
Last years pop-up Zombie, since named Seymour, still did his part although I think his foot pad was worn out once they figured out they were stepping on it to trigger him.

  1. Sounds like a wonderful night. Love your photos!

  2. Great photos! Was your pop up zombie a modified spirit popper? I looked all over for that spider. I will be ordering one for next year for sure.

  3. I really wanted to get my hands on that spider this year. I too will be ordering mine for next year. Terrific photos, the tour bus must have been a real "treat" for you. Great work!

  4. Wow! You've really made the big time if tour busses are coming to your house! I bow to you!

    Everything looks great!

  5. We lucked out getting the jumping spider on the day Spirit opened here. Went back 2 days later to check for a friend at several spirit stores and they were all out. Popup Zombie was the same as we bought and not modified Ked. He was a crowd favorite last year and this year. No big time Lisa, lol. I think it was just a place where most of the houses on my corner decorate for Halloween! Thanks for your comments all!

  6. Hi, I'm back! Just wanted to let you know that I've awarded you the Zombie Rabbit Award over on my blog!
