One of the new friends we made this weekend at the Florida Haunters meet was
Steve Youghn, Stilt Walker Extraordinaire! Steve had some awesome silicone and latex masks he was displaying as well as his stilt walking rig. He was kind enough to fill me in on the stilt walking business and is another one of those people that is very passionate about what he does.
Stilt walking is definitely not for the faint of heart, that's a LONG way up there! Steve's pretty experienced though and stated he rarely falls unless intentionally pushed which he stated has consequences of a law enforcement nature for the pusher.

After lunch he put on his stilts and demon costume and we got a few candid shots.

Wearing a heavy skintight mask would be hard enough, but to have to walk on stilts while in them shows he had the patience of Job.

Hi Kathryn. Yeah he said some of his venues are all day long. Not sure how hard it would be for 6-8 hours on stilts wearing silicone or latex in this Florida heat. i know it's a job I wouldn't want!
